On 18 September 2024, PollinERA held its first training session, titled "ERA Regulatory Perspectives”, bringing together experts from key regulatory bodies and stakeholder organisations.
Led by project partners James H. Williams (Aarhus University) and Noa Simón Delso (BeeLife), the event aimed to enhance the understanding of how ‘risk assessment’ is done in practice, paying special attention to the interface of the different steps of the process.
During the training session, representatives from major ERA regulatory agencies, including the European Food Safety Authority (EFSA), the European Chemicals Agency (ECHA), the French Agency for Food, Environmental and Occupational Health & Safety (ANSES), and the Belgian Federal Public Service (FPS) Health, Food Chain Safety and Environment, who are actively involved in different aspects of risk assessment for chemicals, presented their perspectives. They provided insights into practical details and limitations of environmental risk assessment (ERA), the flows of information and the use of models.
The PollinERA team sincerely thanks all participants, with particular appreciation for the representatives from EFSA, ECHA, ANSES, and FPS for contributing to the training session.
