PollinERA presented at the final event of the Italian national project ÆM-POLLY
PollinERA was presented at the closing event of the Italian national project ÆM-POLLY, titled Valutare l’efficacia delle misure di mitigazione sul declino degli impollinatori: approccio integrato multi-biomarker, held in Siena, Italy. The event was attended by a broad audience, including research communities and regional and local authorities. The gathering aimed to share results from the project ÆM-POLLY, discuss future research directions and open challenges.
ÆM-POLLY aims to develop and validate an integrated protocol as a tool to verify if the mitigation measures foreseen by the EU Green Deal for agricultural practices are effective in halting and reversing the decline of wild pollinator biodiversity.
During the event, project partner Fabio Sgolastra from the University of Bologna presented the PollinERA project in person, highlighting it as an example of a European initiative addressing pollinator conservation. The presentation introduced PollinERA’s approach to Environmental Risk Assessment (ERA) and discussed how pollinator risks are currently assessed at the EU level, as well as opportunities to improve these processes.

The presentation generated strong interest among participants, particularly about how ERA is utilised in the European Union and how scientific advances can support better protection of pollinators. The exchange provided an opportunity to connect national and European perspectives on pollinator conservation and risk assessment.
