PollinERA Online Event | Towards Population‑Level ERA: An Introduction to the One System Prototype
On 10 March 2026, PollinERA is conducting an online event to share the latest developments within the project and contribute to shaping its next steps. The event will provide an opportunity to engage with the project team, gain insights into emerging tools and approaches and take part in an open discussion.
🗓️ Date: Tuesday, 10th March 2026, 13:00–15:00 CET
📍 Location: Online, using the Zoom platform and link to be provided once registered
Focus of the event:
The PollinERA team will further outline PollinERA’s systems‑first environmental risk assessment (ERA) framework. This includes the first operational steps toward a One System Framework, a population‑level, systems‑based approach to risk and policy assessment. Speakers will present the initial outputs of the Pesticide Risk Explorer (part of Phase 1 2026–28 developments), including the creation of an open‑source ecosystem simulation (the first One System prototype). These simulations begin with a focal wild pollinator species, Osmia bicornis (Red Mason Bee), modelled across the Danish landscape to capture ecosystem‑level dynamics before deriving regulatory tools.
Furthermore, the meeting will also explore how simulation outputs, such as changes in pollinator abundance and distribution, can be used for reporting, interpretation, and the definition of ecosystem-level thresholds, including chemical stress budgets. In addition, the role of co-monitoring activities, which combine pesticide exposure data with pollinator community dynamics, will be discussed as a way to provide real-world feedback to validate, refine, and iteratively improve simulation-based indicators.
Aim of the event:
The aim of this event is to foster dialogue, shared understanding, and co-creation. By bringing together different perspectives, PollinERA seeks to ensure that the One System approach remains relevant, transparent, and applicable to real-world regulatory contexts.
